Hello, and welcome!
I'm James, founder of Digitaloft; an SEO, content and digital PR agency based in the North West of the UK.
I've been doing SEO since 2008, back when things were very, very different to what they are today.
Let's just say, my first few years' in the industry were pretty much all about buying awful links from overseas, article spinning (who remembers eZine Articles?!) and keyword-stuffed content.
These tactics should have never worked, but they did. And when a tactic works, people will take advantage of that, like it or not.
Back when I started learning SEO, there weren't anywhere near as many great resources out there as there are now, and much of my learning eventually came from testing, testing and testing on my own sites, as well as time spent reading everything that was published on Moz, Search Engine Land and Search Engine Watch (as well as, I'm not afraid to admit, quite a bit of time on the Black Hat World forum).
I've launched The SEO Strategist to share my 14 years'+ experience and create a space to publish the type of content that I've always loved reading, find useful and would want my team to read.
